Charlotte Concerts: The Emerson Quartet and Van Cliburn Gold Medalist

vadym-Kholodenko-250Since 1930 Charlotte Concerts has been bringing world-class classical performers to the Queen City. This edition of the program features two recent concerts from September and October of 2013. The first showcases the versatility of the renowned Emerson Quartet in familiar music by Mendelssohn and Beethoven, with a tribute to Benjamin Britten in between to mark his centennial. The second concert features the pianist Vadym Kholodenko fresh from his sensational gold medal win at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in an all-Rachmaninoff program.
